Logistics group to create more jobs at Liverpool base

Just a month after opening its first-ever Liverpool base in a £500,000 investment, logistics specialist Europa Worldwide Group is off to a flying start.
Logistics specialist Europa Worldwide Group has already completed 90 import and export consignments within a month of opening its new £500,000 Liverpool base.
Europa, which has just reported an annual turnover of £300m, started trading from Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock in May. Its six-strong team is led by Carolyn Hough.
She has more than 20 years sales experience in the logistics sector and joined from rival Dachser. And the firm says with early trade looking very promising it intends to grow the size of the team.
In the first month of business the new branch handled 90 consignments. These comprised both imports and exports between the UK and Europe. 60% of those consignments used the Europa Flow product to ensure smooth customs clearance.
50-year-old Europa selected Liverpool after substantial research into suitable locations showing growth in European imports and exports. It operates multiple branches across the UK.
Liverpool is becoming a hotspot for logistics. In the next few weeks the city region’s £25m Freeport goes live. Speaking at the Maritime Exchange conference last week, LCR Freeport director John Lucy said interest from global investors had been “phenomenal”. Carolyn Hough said:
“Our new team is an asset to the Europa family – having already surpassed all expectations. This month has been a huge success as Europa Liverpool helps new customers across the region move their goods in and out of Europe.”
Europa Worldwide Group has three divisions – Europa Road, Europa Air & Sea, and Europa Warehouse. It employs more than 1,300 across the UK, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. Its £300m turnover figure is a big leap from the £260m reported a year ago.
Adrian Redmile, branch network and sales director, Europa Road, added: “The performance of the new team is really impressive.
“To ensure we meet the obvious demand for European road freight in the Liverpool region we will be recruiting to grow our team. We plan to increase the number of individuals at our Liverpool branch.”
