HOMEGROWN BUSINESS HEROES INSPIRE AT ‘MEET THE ENTREPRENEURS AND EXPERTS’ EVENT FOR ANFIELD’S ASPIRING FEMALE BUSINESS LEADERS
Liverpool City Council is thrilled to announce ‘Meet the Entrepreneurs and Experts’ – a free and inspirational business event aimed at female entrepreneurs and future businesswomen in Anfield.
Taking place at The Sandon Complex, Anfield, on Thursday, 14 November 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, this empowering evening will bring together some of the region’s most successful female entrepreneurs to share their journeys and encourage others to start or grow their business ventures.
This event is supported by Liverpool City Council’s Business Support Service, through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as the lead authority.
The event, organised in partnership with Liverpool City Council’s Business Support Service, will feature a panel discussion, live Q&A, and a marketplace of business support agencies offering practical advice. Local entrepreneur Kate Stewart, owner of The Sandon Complex and a self-made millionaire, will host the event, which promises attendees an evening of inspiration, networking, and expert insights.
Catherine McNeill, Neighbourhood Manager at Liverpool City Council, says, “We’re incredibly proud to bring this opportunity to the women of Anfield. ‘Meet the Entrepreneurs and Experts’ is a chance for aspiring entrepreneurs to learn from those who have walked the path, faced the challenges, and achieved remarkable success. This event will provide the practical tools, inspiring stories, and connections needed to help more local women embark on their own business journeys.”
The evening will kick off with refreshments and networking, followed by a panel discussion featuring remarkable women who have turned their visions into reality. Each speaker will share their journey and insights into what it takes to succeed in today’s business world.
Abbie Day, Founder of fashion brand Gypsabella, said:
“I hope our stories show other women in Liverpool that with passion and perseverance, they can turn their dreams into reality. Events like ‘Meet the Entrepreneurs and Experts’ are vital because they give aspiring entrepreneurs the encouragement, support, and connections to build something amazing right here in our community.”
Kate Stewart, Owner of The Sandon Complex and Vitality Homes, said:
“It’s really important that women support each other; when one of us succeeds, it’s a win for all of us. I’m excited to share my story and help more women see the incredible possibilities in business. Confidence is key. We are ordinary women that have been lucky enough to receive the right support, to help us achieve success in business. We want to give back and help other people on that journey. This event gives us the opportunity to share our story and hopefully inspire people to seize the opportunities that are out there.”
Charlotte Donoghue, Founder of Say it with Diamonds, said:
“Starting my business with just £250 each alongside my partner, we grew ‘Say it with Diamonds’ from our kitchen into a £16 million brand. I want to show that, with determination and resilience, anyone can make their dreams a reality. People often just need some advice, encouragement and support. That’s what this event will start to deliver.”
Nicola Byrne, Founder of Urban Calm & Mini Madams, added:
“My personal business journey began unexpectedly, but with a lot of hard work, I now run multiple successful and growing beauty brands across Liverpool. I hope to inspire other women to embrace opportunities and build a meaningful and rewarding career in business for themselves. This special event is really relaxed and informal, we’re hoping to talk business in a supportive and informative environment, but also to have a good time and share our honest accounts and best advice. It’s going to be a great event and I’d encourage any woman who’s interested in business to register and come along. It could lead to great things.”
Jessie Aru Phillips, Director and Founder of Track Tots UK and creator and presenter of multi award winning The Sista Collective on ‘BBC Five Live’, said:
“As a storyteller who loves to engage with people, my mission is to connect with audiences and celebrate real people. Too many women still feel that founding a business or building a career in business is not for them. We’re here to challenge this damaging misconception. This event’s speakers’ stories are relatable and demonstrate that, with the right support, anyone can become a successful entrepreneur if they put their mind to it. I’m thrilled to join this event and encourage others to take that first brave step in business. The rewards can be life-changing.”
