New Details Emmerge for Liverpool City Region’s £50m Bridgewater Street scheme
Further details on Liverpool City Region’s £50m residential scheme earmarked for a waterfront site in Liverpool’s Baltic neighbourhood have been revealed.
Last week, Elliot Group confirmed the submission of plans for its 15-storey Bridgewater Street scheme.
The site was formerly a base for electrical wholesaler Eyre & Elliston and was acquired by the developer in November 2019.
It is earmarked for a 232-unit development, alongside eight ground floor commercial units totalling 12,000 sq ft.
The official planning documents have now become available, shedding further light on the details.
The first floor would comprise the upper floors of the commercial units fronting Bridgewater Street, as well as two two-bedroom and a single one-bedroom apartment.
The second to ninth floors would comprise four studio apartments, 12 one-bedroom dwellings and six two-bedroom units.
The tenth and eleventh floors would accommodate four studios, 12 one-bedroom apartments and a trio of two-bedroom properties.
The twelfth floor would comprise a roof terrace providing amenity space for residents, alongside a three-bedroom penthouse, four one-bedroom properties and a single two-bedroom apartment.
Four one-bedroom units and one two-bedroom unit are earmarked for the thirteenth and fourteenth floors.
A planning statement submitted to Liverpool City Council noted that the design intention is to provide “residential accommodation that will add to the vitality and viability of future development”.
A number of benefits are also expected, including the creation of construction jobs and contributing to the “urban vitality and activity” in the area.
The report added that the plans align with the council’s aspirations for the Baltic Quarter.
