Law firm Brown Turner Ross is relocating its Liverpool city centre operation to a bigger office as it takes on more staff.

A law firm that was founded in Southport in 1884 is taking a bigger office in Liverpool city centre as it grows its headcount.

Brown Turner Ross (BTR) is headquartered in Lord Street in Southport. Its Liverpool base was in St Paul’s Square but the firm is now moving to a larger office just yards away in the Cotton Exchange, a deal with building owner Bruntwood Works.

This move will support the business’s growth in its family and civil teams with plans to expand across other departments in the coming months. This will increase the Brown Turner Ross workforce to 36.

BTR managing director Sam Bushell said “Expanding our Liverpool based office allows us the flexibility to better service our current clients and gives us the potential for further growth.

“While we are proud of our Southport heritage, our client base in Liverpool and the surrounding areas continues to increase.

“This move will also allow our highly dedicated team of professional’s flexibility to utilise the Liverpool city centre offices and our clients the convenience of a local office for meetings.”

The office move will also see the introduction of  a new case management system to further streamline the firm’s operations.

A week ago LBN revealed that another law firm, Horwich Farrelly (HF), is to open a new office in Liverpool having closed its previous base during the pandemic.

Manchester-based HF, which offers legal services to the insurance and commercial sectors, has taken office space at 20 Chapel Street in the commercial district. Initially its team will comprise 30 people but it says it intends to grow the team.
