WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TOULOUSE?
True Parisians like to escape the capital in the winter. Their destination of choice is oftentimes ‘La Ville Rose’ – The Pink City – a place more commonly known as Toulouse. Soon you’ll be able to fly to the southern French capital of the Occitanie region, direct from Liverpool John Lennon Airport with easyJet, from 28th October. The fourth new route announced this year. CAINS IS COMING HOME
Drowning your sorrows after England’s defeat? This will cheer you up. Liverpool’s Brewery Village has just ‘pulled’ in £7m, creating 200 jobs, all thanks to Cains Brewery’s return to Liverpool, producing their famous ale in the city, for the first time in five years. Plans for the 15,000 sq ft Grade II listed building include a state-of-the-art sky-bar, artisan food outlets, cask ales and keg beers. See, bet you’re feeling better already. READ MORE
‘SUPER TEAM’ SHAPE £2BN SCHEME
Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter Gateways is set to benefit from a massive £2bn regeneration scheme, to be developed by a new consortium. GVA How Planning, K2 Architects, and Panit-IE will work together to deliver a new Spatial Regeneration Framework (SRF) for the 56-acre area of Liverpool City Centre, taking on strategic planning, architecture and landscaping, respectively. LIVERPOOL SELECTED AS NATIONAL ‘CAREER HUB’
Liverpool City Region has become central to the government’s plans to transform careers and education for young people. The city region will receive £5m over a two-year period to support the creation of a new Career Hub, preparing young people for the world of work. READ MORE
MARCO DEVELOPMENTS SUBMIT £100M PLANS
Liverpool City Council has received plans for a £100m residential waterfront development from for an island site south of Liverpool City Centre, between the southern edge of Brunswick Dock, home of Liverpool Marina and the sea dock. The planning application includes retail and commercial units and has been designed to ‘complement the rich maritime history’ of the area. READ MORE
REPORT PRAISES LIVERPOOL’S PROFESSIONAL SERVICES SECTOR
More than 107,000 jobs across 12,000 companies, contributing £8bn annually to national GVA – Liverpool City Region’s Professional and Businesses Services Sector plays a critical role in the region’s growth and prosperity, growing by 41% since 2010, according to a new report produced by Pegasus Group. £200M PUBLIC REALM PLANS FOR PALL MALL
It’s hard to beat a beautiful green oasis in the heart of a busy business district.
