The first city to submit its Economic Recovery Plan to Government in June, Liverpool has been at the forefront of economic recovery since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and is showing signs of resilience despite being the first region to be placed into Tier Three restrictions.
The implementation of locally-delivered mass testing in the city will shine a light on its global excellence in digital, health and life sciences, putting Liverpool front and centre of the UK’s recovery.
The Avison Young UK Cities Recovery Index helps monitor the way in which COVID-19 is impacting the UK’s major cities. It enables up-to-date assessments and analysis of the rate and trajectory of recovery for Liverpool and identifies trends that will determine the future of the City.
With a second national lockdown now in place, the city’s tentative recovery is at risk once again and strained sectors are expected to fall into further decline.
As Liverpool emerges from a second national lockdown the panel will discuss findings from the Recovery Index and explore how the data can be used to identify the impacts of restrictions, inform policy making and build upon the city’s key strengths to help create a sustainable and inclusive economy not just for Liverpool but the UK as a whole.
