MIPIM set to return in March 2022 as global commercial property market continues its recovery
Organisers say ‘MIPIM 2022 is on track to have the same number of exhibitors as the 2019 edition from Europe and the Middle East’, once again featuring a strong presence from Liverpool City Region.
Global property showcase MIPIM will return in March for the first time since 2019 – and organisers say there is strong demand from exhibitors as the real estate sector worldwide continues its recovery from the pandemic.
MIPIM will take place in Cannes, on the French Riviera, from March 15 to March 18, after enforced breaks in March 2020 and March 2021 due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The event is popular with developers and public sector officials from across the UK, who use the event to meet potential investors and partners from across the world.
In a statement today, organisers said: “MIPIM 2022 is on track to have the same number of exhibitors as the 2019 edition from Europe and the Middle East”.
And they say more than 90% of European cities and regions who exhibited at MIPIM 2019 have already committed to take stands at the event.
UK cities and regions due to represented include London, Liverpool, Newcastle, Cardiff, West of England, Dudley, Lancashire and Central South.
The UK Pavilion on La Croisette will see the Department for International Trade (DIT), the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) and Homes England promote the country’s international offer for investment.
The keynote speaker at this year’s event will be former French President François Hollande.
Ronan Vaspart, director of MIPIM, said: “We are full steam ahead in our planning for what is shaping into a crucial event for real estate in 2022. It is fantastic to see such a strong desire from the industry to come together and the numbers we are seeing signing up for the event are highly encouraging.
“I hope this message gives those already signed up, as well as those still considering their options, the confidence to plan for arriving in Cannes in March.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone to a safe and secure event that is set to continue MIPIM’s tradition of attracting the biggest names in our field, as demonstrated by what promises to be a significant intervention from President Hollande.”
The Central South region includes Portsmouth, Southampton, Hampshire, Dorset and South West Surrey.
Tim Hancock, chair of Business South action group Regen South and managing director of planning and design company Terence O’Rourke, said: “This is the most important event in the property calendar, and it provides a real opportunity to engage with decision makers at the highest level.
“Many UK cities and regions have been attending for several years and now this is our opportunity to proudly promote our ‘future-ready’ credentials to major investors.”
