WHY DOES LIVERPOOL CITY REGION ATTEND?
Liverpool City Region’s role in the national and global economy has never been more relevant. International manufacturers all over the world are making use of our modern and efficient ports and logistics infrastructure, which delivers faster, greener, global market access to companies moving goods to and from northern UK and Ireland.
Our region is now home to an enlarged post-Panamax container port, Liverpool2, accommodating the world’s largest vessels. We have a maritime economy of £3.47 billion and we are home to the Headquarters of four of the world’s top five shipping lines.
Over the past decade, Liverpool City Region has invested more than £1 billion in new intermodal ports and logistics infrastructure and is home to the logistics, warehousing and supply-chain operations of some of the world’s leading companies such as: ACL, Bibby Group, Cammell Laird, Cargill, Orsted, General Motors, Iberdrola, Ineos, Jaguar Land Rover, Maersk, NSG Pilkington, QVC, Stobart, TJ Morris, Unipart and Unilever.
Add to this the fact that 35 million people live closer to Liverpool than to Southern ports and that our region is within ten miles of ten motorways and ten rail-linked terminals, you start to see why Liverpool City Region is often the best choice for many international shipping freight operators and logistics companies.
We attend London Shipping Week to ensure Liverpool City Region is represented at the event, connecting with companies and delegates that could likely experience incredible growth, thanks to our thriving maritime industry. To put it simply, Liverpool City Region’s maritime offer is truly world-class and international shipping events are a fantastic way for us to connect with the market.
