Liverpool law firm unveils expansion plan

Law firm Binghams, which represents 2,000 Liverpool fans caught up in the Paris chaos, moved into a new Liverpool office in March and is now in negotiations to double its space and create up to 20 jobs.
Law firm Binghams Solicitors says it will create up to 20 new jobs over the next 12 months as it unveils an ambitious expansion plan.
Now the firm is also looking to significantly grow its office space as it widens its scope of the work. Its lawyers are currently representing Liverpool fans caught up in the chaos of the 2022 Champions League final.
Binghams was formed in 2003 by Robert Bingham. Its first office, employing five people, was in Wallasey. Current managing director Gerard Long bought the firm in 2018.
In 2019 it acquired 174 Solicitors in Birkenhead and, in the same year, it opened its first Liverpool office in Castle Chambers.
Now employing around 30 people, in March the firm relocated from Castle Chambers to take part of the eighth floor at Walker House in Exchange Flags, a space totalling 3,000 sq ft. Now it is negotiating to take the rest of the floor taking its space to 6,000 sq ft.
This will help accommodate the expected rise in headcount of 10 to 20 over the next 12 months. Gerard Long told LBN: “Our business continues to grow at pace with the increasing amount of litigation we are handling.
“We continue to invest in our people and tech as that’s the only way to operate in the modern way of a law firm.”
Binghams’ original practice in Wallasey focused on conveyancing, wills, probate and some small personal injury cases. Since opening the Liverpool branch it has grown its litigation arm taking on more personal injury as well as pension claims and housing disrepair.
Over the past 18 months the firm has entered the group litigation space. It is the lead representing more than 2,000 Liverpool fans for the debacle that occurred outside the Stade de France at the 2022 Champions League final.
It also has thousands of Mercedes Vehicle Emission cases and many more relating to other vehicle manufacturers. Data breach is another growing specialism.
Gerard added:
“You will see from our new office design with multiple breakout spaces and packages we offer new employees that we invest and take care of our people. We are very entrepreneurial and ambitious, and this reflects with our quick growth.
“Any young/ mature ambitious people working in the legal sector should get In touch and see the new way of law.”
