GLOBAL LAW FIRM ESTABLISHES NEW PARTNERSHIP IN LIVERPOOL CITY REGION
US layers Sanders Phillips Grossman has launched a new firm in Liverpool.
SPG Law is a newly formed partnership of UK and US lawyers who offer specialist expertise in group litigation related to pharmaceutical, consumer and environmental cases.
The new office will initially employ 28 new posts, a figure expected to rise to more than 50 by the end of the year, helping the company to reach its goal of becoming one of the largest claimant law firms in the North West.
Founding partner Harris Pogust said: “We want to bring the US approach to group litigation to our UK clients and marry that with the talents of some of the top barristers and lawyers in the UK.
“We have chosen Liverpool as our UK base because we’re big believers in utilising the talent and resource of the region as well as the strong belief that Liverpool is a great place to start a major law firm such as ours.
“We’re bringing a legal powerhouse to the Northern Powerhouse and are looking forward to driving business and fighting for the rights of UK citizens who have been taken advantage of by big business.”
“The Liverpool City Region has a long-standing position as an international centre for legal and professional services. Ambitious, global law firms like Sanders Phillips Grossman rely on the right talent, strong customer demand, and excellent infrastructure. Liverpool City Region delivers in these areas and more.
“Instilling this confidence, without question, continues to makes our region a premier UK investment location. We’re certain SPG Law will do very well here.
Minister for the Northern Powerhouse Jake Berry MP added: “It is fantastic to see Liverpool attracting overseas investment, in turn bringing more jobs to the North West. As a lawyer myself, I have long believed that you do not need to be in London to enjoy a successful legal career.”
