FIVE NEW ROUTES FOR LIVERPOOL JOHN LENNON AIRPORT

Winter is well underway at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, and Christmas has come early with the announcement of 5 new routes to destinations including Cyprus, France and Romania, for the perfect seasonal get-away.

Ryanair has commenced the first of its twice-weekly flights to the popular holiday destination of Paphos in Cyprus, easyJet commenced its four-times-weekly flights to Toulouse in southern France, and Wizz Air commenced three new routes to the Romanian cities of Bucharest, Cluj and Iași, bringing a further seven additional departures per week from Liverpool.

These new services will result in 11 additional weekly departures from LJLA , taking take the total number of new destinations this year to 13. The move will also help the airport to continue to grow both the range of destinations served, and the number of passengers choosing to fly from Liverpool.#

Paul Winfield, director of aviation development for LJLA, said: “We are delighted to welcome five new routes this winter with Europe’s three largest low-cost carriers.

“Liverpool John Lennon Airport is the faster, easier, friendlier airport in the North West and passengers from across the North West and North Wales can all benefit from these new services.”

The latest news comes on the back of a successful 2018 Summer season for the airport, with passengers for the April to October period some 3% higher than in 2017, with more than 100,000 more passengers using LJLA during the Summer months.
