Heroic startups and scaleups meet with leading tech talents and innovators. Inspirational speakers engage with innovative minds and visionary corporates talk to prominent investors.

You’ve never been to a BBQ quite like TechBBQ – And that’s why the event is always a highlight in Invest Liverpool’s busy calendar.

The annual conference started off as a casual BBQ for tech entrepreneurs. It is now one of the world’s largest and most important tech startup events. This year it will take place between the 18 and 19 September 2019, in it’s host city of Copenhagen.

Read on for more about TechBBQ, how we will be covering it and why businesses and investors should make sure they connect with us during the event.

Picturing a load of tech men and women chowing down on burgers in the Copenhagen sun? TechBBQ is so much more. The event is designed by Denmark’s start-up community to link entrepreneurs with the world, providing them with insight, opportunities and networks to help them grow.

Themes covered include 3D Printing, AI, CleanTech, EdTech, FinTech, Games, Life Sciences and MedTech. Nearly all of which are sectors where the Liverpool City Region has real, international strength.

TechBBQ is all about bringing people together in the 5000 m2 Øksnehallen exhibition space, to explore opportunities. The popular conference element gives a stage to leading global voices in innovation and tech. The event also hosts start-up services including workshops and speed dating and connects businesses with investors through ‘business angels’.

Attracting more than 4,000 attendees, including 1,500 start-ups, 250+ investors and 150+ corporate organisations, TechBBQ is an event that outgrows itself, year on year. It has a strong reputation for making genuine, lasting business connections through brokered activity alongside the usual networking events.

The Liverpool City Region has the talent, connections, industries, infrastructure and support that can take a tech startup and turn it into a global success. Invest Liverpool go to the event to make as many connections as possible, telling people why the Liverpool City Region is an excellent choice to start or expand their business.

Captains of industry from global tech giants, Heads of technology from fast-growing ‘unicorns’, founders of fortune 500s and industry 4.0 CEOs collide, give talks, share advice and comment on where the industry is heading at TechBBQ.

A number of speakers are still to be announced but you can read more about all the confirmed speakers HERE.

Due to the sheer scale of TechBBQ we’re deploying a team of Liverpool City Region investment professionals to maximise our efforts, offer a range of expertise and connect with as many businesses and investors as possible.

Delegates can reach us to request meetings through the forthcoming TechBBQ app, where they can discover how Liverpool City Region’s creative & digital, life science, MedTech and FinTech sectors can help their business to achieve new levels of success and expansion, enabling them to scale-up, access finance, secure talent and attract new clients.
